Founded in 1845, Brighton College is one of Britain's leading schools for pupils aged 11-18. It was named United Kingdom Independent School of the Year 2013-14, the third such accolade in as many years, after the Sunday Times School of the Year Award in 2011-12 and Tatler’s Head Master of the Year Award in 2012-13.

The influential Sunday Times Parent Power report named Brighton the top co-educational school in England for the second year running based on its A-Level and GCSE results: at A-Level, pupils gained 94% A* - B grades in 2014. while at GCSE, Brighton pupils achieved 91% of grades at A* or A. In January 2015, another 29 pupils received offers from Oxford or Cambridge, equalling the record set in 2014.
